Hey all. Those of you that have experience with Nokia N Series, could you share it here. I'm mostly interested in the Nokia N75. I was hoping to feel one before deciding to purchase it online, but ATT Stores don't seem to stock them anymore. Big bummer! That one grabs me the most because it is a flip phone.
I look forward to your replies. Thanks!
so, you've decided to go with mobilespeak then?
talks will also work on the series sixty phones. and btw, I haven't felt a n 75
Hmmm! Close enough, I have an N70. It's kind of a brick phone, put it that way, but it's also an Ipod plus FM radio plus all your Email, internet, SMS Etc Etc. Got it 22 months ago back in August 2006 but still don't see the need to upgrade just now. I'm happy with it anyway. I also use Talks Premium on it.

Faithful Angel, grin, nope haven't decided. Think I'll go to VZW today and check out the Q and the pn820, if they have it in stock. The Nokia's are pretty interesting though. I'd have to switch cariers.
The SMT is also accessibl with mobilespeak. There are others as well. The Q to me was confusing. The 820 is just a flipphone with big numbers. Nothing special.
My advice would be to find a way of feeling the N75 before you buy it. I had one, and I only kept it for a few days. There's a camera on the back (I think it's for recording video), but I didn't like the placement of it. For me, it was right where my hand would go when I held the phone. I did like the fact that it was a flip phone, but I wasn't crazy about the phone's buttons. I've talked to several people who had the N75 and didn't keep it. So definitely check it out before you buy it and try to talk to some people who have used one.
I did like the Q, but I think Verizon's Q is different that the one I have with AT&T. You'll really have to decide whether you want the standard numeric keypad or a Qwerty keyboard and go from there. I love the Qwerty, so that's why I went with the Q.
I have an N75 and I seem to be one of the only people who's satisfied with it. I don't look for anything fancy in phones since I hardly use them anyway, and it does all I need it to. The only problems I have with it are that the battery life is really not spectacular, and the buttons on the outside tend to be pressed a lot when I don't mean for them to be. Lol. But other than that, I like it. You should definitely try to feel it before buying if you possibly can, though, because I agree with Brooke about the buttons. I don't really like them.
Well I had an n75 and I liked it ok. The fact I really liked is that it held a memory card and you could use mp3's as ring tones. I decided to upgrade to a blackjack cause of the qwerty keyboard. It took a while to get use to it. I spent the first week cussing it lol, but once you learn to txt on it you can't beat it with a stick.
"wack, wack, wack!!!" Woof beats the blackjack with a stick... But seriously folks, there great phones. People like the jack and the cue so you will want to get your hands on them to find out which one you like. I do myself use Mobilespeak on both the HTC TYTN which is like the cingular 8525 and also I have the nokia n82 which I love. it's a great phone easy to use and fantastic audio quality. Code Factory supports there products extremely well and updates are free. This is a wonderful perk that makes the investment worth it. Woof!
Yeah, I was reconsidering the Q, but Verizon has already phased out one of them, and the one I looked at the store the other day looked odd. I liked the trio, but it was really expensive. The trio 755 is cheeper, but not supported. Sheesh.
BTW, I'm thinking of starting a new topic... But, who decides these things...? What phones are going to be compatible, and why is BlackBerry never chosen?
i love the n82 it's a great phone.
well, I might be a n82 owner soon, I am going for the knfb thing after seeing that last week, that is just to cool to pass up.
Got the n82 here and love the thing. Also, unfortunately, black berry runs on a propritary operating system and no one has developed speech for it yet
i lloove my q on atnt. the first week was a bitch in a half getting used to the keyboard and everything but now i love it. i'd had it for 2 months now.
i have the blackjack2 from att. I for one love the qwerty keyboard. I didn't like the q necause when your in a call mobilespeak doesn't work. I found that if your paying so much for softwar you should be able to use it at all times. I also like the blackjack2 becausd the red one kind of feels like lether so if you drop your phone your not screwed because it breaks in a million peaces like most phones. You can also put an 8 gig card in it so um yeah mp3 player and phone and the battery life is way awesome.
I have a nokia n75 and i like it. I like the fact that it is a flip and has pretty good clarity. The only thing is that the buttons are close together. It takes a few days to get used to it, but all in all is a great phone.
I haven't seen an n75, but hoping to get the n95 in a few weeks. I have the nokia E51 at the minute, but want a second phone in case that one breaks.
It doesn't look like I'll be getting the N95, because the people from Communic8 never got back to me as they said they would and I've now decided I don't really want a contract anyway. I looked in about 3 phone shops and not one of them had that phone in as pay as you go. I asked about the rest of the n series and they only had the n78, which I know for a fact doesn't support talks. Are there any other n series phones that are slider phones? I like those ones and want to get a second phone anyway in case my e51 breaks down.
there are slider phones which work with talks, though can't remember which.
am switching to att soon and wanted to know what is the difference honestly between a blackjack and blackjack 2? thanks.
I can't believe they're advertizing the blackberry as a phone in the o2 shop here in Hereford. I thought it was a mini computer of some description!
Does anyone know if the N70 is compatible with MobileSpeak. I'm considdering switching over from Talks to Mobilespeak as it seems to cope better with audio streams, internet browsers, bluetooth keyboards and things, but I've just had an reply back from Steve Nutt at Comproom Services and he seems to think without a shadow of a doubt that MobileSpeak is just a Windows Mobile compatible screenreader where as I've just this minute gone back on to the Code Factory site and this is what I found.
